Tinge Tinge, v. t. [imp. & p. p. Tinged; p. pr. & vb. n. Tingeing.] [L. tingere, tinctum, to dye, stain, wet; akin to Gr. ?, and perhaps to G. tunken to dip, OHG. tunch[=o]n, dunch[=o]n, thunk[=o]n. Cf.
